POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT: Communications and Outreach Coordinator
Organization Overview:
The Maine Coalition Against Sexual Assault (MECASA) is organized to put an end to sexual violence in Maine, and to ensure that there will be ongoing support and services for victims and survivors.
MECASA represents and serves Maine’s sexual assault support centers through public policy advocacy, assistance to Maine’s sexual assault support centers, public awareness and prevention activities, and statewide training.
Position Summary:
The Communications and Outreach Coordinator is a full time position responsible for expanding statewide outreach efforts and increasing awareness around issues of sexual violence and prevention.
Qualifications:
• Awareness of and sensitivity to issues of sexual victimization
• Excellent written communication and public speaking skills
• Strong writing and proofreading skills
• Proven facilitation skills with multi-disciplinary groups
• Ability to work independently
• Willingness to accept a challenge
• Excellent organizational skills
• Comfort with and ability to manage multiple projects
• Proven ability to show initiative and creativity
• Strong computer skills, including comfort with design software and familiarity with web design
• Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field (English, Communications, etc.) or MA preferred
